International Maternal and Child Health,
IMCH
International
Maternal and Child Health, IMCH, is part of the Department of
Women's and Children's Health and headed by Lars Åke Persson,
Professor of International Child Health.
IMCH has
well-established research groups, in which PhD and licentiate
students work under the supervision of IMCH-researchers. Projects
currently underway in these groups deal primarily with
- Maternal
and reproductive health care
- Integrated
management of childhood illness
- Maternal
and child nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and
breastfeeding
- Public
health in humanitarian assistance
IMCH offers the

in Humanitarian Assistance
In support of its
educational activities, IMCH maintains a library on health care in
low-income countries, the largest such library in Scandinavia. The
literature can be searched through Libris.
IMCH staff members
do consultancy work for national and international organisations
including WHO, UNICEF, etc.
